School Vision

Kirkstall Valley Primary School is on a journey.

In June 2018 KVPS received an overall OFSTED grade of 'Requires Improvement' following a turbulent and challenging period in its history. Staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that we are providing our children with a high-quality, broad, meaningful education where the whole child is nurtured and grounded in both the academic aspects of learning and also the social and emotional foundations which underpin these.

We aspire to prepare life-long-learners as well as compassionate, empathetic and resilient members of our local, national and global communities.

We have worked hard to redesign our curriculum into a first-class, structured system of learning from the moment a child enters KVPS to the moment they graduate as well-prepared young people ready and eager to take the next stage of their learning journeys.

This curriculum and the learning at KVPS is open to all. There are no limits for our children; no ceilings placed on learning. We aim to challenge, support, extend and harness children's learning and ideas - whatever their backgrounds, starting points aspirations or perceived abilities. We are here for our local community and we are so proud to serve it. Our determination for our children to succeed and own their learning is unwavering.

We have one childhood and  one chance at education so we can achieve our very best and have a successful career and a happy, healthy lifestyle. Every moment is precious and moves us towards being grown up. In our school, we learn to make friends, respect each other, listen to others and socialise. Our teachers make sure we are not afraid to make mistakes and, with them, we learn to persevere and develop a love of learning. We respect and celebrate our differences and similarities. Our joint aim is for every individual to be the best possible version of themselves! We are all special – all the children, all the staff, all the parents and all the governors and, together, we create our fantastic school.

Kirkstall Valley Primary School is a unique place and we are so proud of our small school with a big heart.
